Today is September 22, 2007, a beautiful Saturday afternoon here in Las Vegas.

My Lap Band surgery was on May 3rd, my mother’s birthday. It has taken me 4 months to finally put my thoughts onto “paper” so to speak.

I will be detailing my journey from the beginning, so please be patient with me as I go back and input posts that I should have made months ago.

It has been an interesting, and often times frustrating experience to say the least. But nothing good can be gained without some kind of obstacle needing to be overcome.

I have been very public about my decision to have the surgery, my reasons are quite selfish. One, I welcome the support that I have recieved from friends, and family. Two, the added pressure not to fail so publicly is what helps to drive me as I struggle daily not to succumb to my past temptations.

I will be updating this blog daily, and often times throughout the day. So you can see not only the struggles I go through daily, but often times hourly.
